Why are walnuts so expensive?
Are they? What are we comparing them to? Bread is about the same price. Eggs and milk and meat are much higher, if you’re valuing the price by weight. We have some inshell walnuts that are priced lower, but you’ll have to crack them yourself. The packaging doesn’t help the situation either, and in many cases, is more expensive than the product inside. Consumers are appearance driven, and they pay for pretty. Keep this in mind next time you see costly food in 4 oz packaging. Get more nuts for your bucks by buying 6, 10, or 25 lb boxes. Buy bulk or go broke!

Plant seeds everywhere and anywhere they can get water. If you use dripline to water your trees, plant squash seeds by the dripline.
Farming animals is difficult to do. They drink a lot of water and eat a lot of food. If you have little land, you have to choose between growing food for yourself or for your animals. Not only will they eat up all of your food, but they will certainly need more. It would be better to let them wander in the woods, or mountains. We can hunt them if need be.
