Empire Nut Company grows and packs walnuts in Colusa, California. In 2012, the company built a facility where walnuts could be hulled, shelled, and packed (show picture of Empire). You can get a box of shelled walnuts delivered to your doorstep!

Walnuts are harvested annually in October and are best eaten throughout the year, before the new crop comes. They don’t need to take up refrigerator space if they are consumed regularly and kept in a cool, dry place (like a cupboard).
